If you arrive in Bangkok knowing no one, Sukhumvit is where the city makes most sense. The stretch from Asok to Phrom Phong holds the malls — Terminal 21, Emporium and EmQuartier — the international hospitals, schools a short drive away and a restaurant on every soi. It is also the most liquid market in the city: buyers and tenants are always looking here, which makes it the easiest place to resell or rent out later.
